2024 Waterville Creates a Summer Art in the Park, a $400 micro-grant to pay my students to help create a Pride art activity! Three students designed and facilitated the “Creating Rainbow Art” lesson at the Paul J Schupf Art Center.
2023 Oak Hill Grant Interdisciplinary Project Bookmaking and Memoirs. Included a visit to Sappi Paper Mill.

2025 Summer art show and student panel participation at Puddle Dock Village Festival facilitated by artist Peter Brunn.
2024, Alternative Students worked with Lucky Platt, a teaching artist, to design a “cranky” and create a storyboard from a poem for an Earth Day program. The scroll painting is based on a rhyming couplet poem written by a person in the Citizens’ Climate Lobby. This was an interdisciplinary project involving art and language arts.
2024 Together Project by artist Peter Brunn featuring Alternative Students. This program included opportunities for students to engage in public speaking, music performances, voice recording, and several workshops and art exhibitions. Voice recording on a loop from interviews conducted by Peter Brunn featuring 15 alternative school students played as background sound to accompany Peter’s art in the Ticonic Gallery at the art center.

2019- 2023 Student generated newsletters and yearbooks. Students practice interview skills, journalistic writing, photography, graphic design, and illustration while showcasing the art and work of the alternative program.
2021 The Jack Pine project, students created Maine Mind Maps and examined their thoughts on the pandemic. Their work was in a virtual show and small publishing.
2021, Alternative students designed, packaged, and filmed Art Kits for All November Kit as a volunteer project to support the community during Hybrid learning during the pandemic.
2018-present students’ volunteering activities. This year, my students decorated storefront windows in downtown Waterville for this year’s (2024) Halloween events. My students also generate Holiday cards each year for recipients of the Meals on Wheels program through Waterville’s Muskie Center.
EXTRACURRICULAR INVOLVEMENT
2020-present Volunteer work with Unified programs through the AYCC in Waterville, hosting art workshops for adults with special needs.
2020- 2024 Special Olympics Maine, participating in the Lobster Dip charity fundraiser at Old Orchard Beach, Maine.
